Terms and Conditions
Liability
Sloep Oudegracht can never be held liable for personal injury or damage of any kind, regardless of the cause, prior to, during or as a result of the trip. An exception to this is the legal obligation to pay compensation due to demonstrable intent or gross negligence on the part of Sloep Oudegracht. The statutory compensation is limited to a maximum of the boat rental of the relevant cruise. Minor children are always under the responsibility of the parents and/or guardians. Life jackets can be provided for small children free of charge upon request.
Security
The skipper on board a Sloep Oudegracht ship is always in charge. He or she always determines what happens. During the trip, the skipper reserves the right to interrupt the trip and/or change the agreed route if, in his/her opinion, irresponsible and/or unsafe situations occur or if action is not taken in accordance with these general terms and conditions. Safety is always our number one priority.
Payment
Payment only takes place prior to the cruise, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing or by e‐mail.
cancellation; bad weather
The client can cancel the assignment by means of a written (or by e-mail) and dated notification. For this we use the following terms and cancellation costs:
-
Cancellation more than 15 days before the start of the tour: no cancellation costs.
-
Cancellation 15 days or less but more than 3 days before the start of the tour: 50% of the total cost.
-
Cancellation 72 hours or less before the start of the tour: 100% of the total cost.
Deviation from the above cancellation terms is only possible after the parties involved have agreed this in writing. You can report a (minor) change in the number of people up to 7 days before the cruise, without paying any cancellation costs.
We do not charge cancellation fees in bad weather conditions such as rain and/or wind. An alternative date will be determined in consultation.
Re-rental
It is never permitted to rent out (re-rent) the boat or to use it commercially in any form for personal gain without express written permission from Sloep Oudegracht.
Be on time
Please make sure you are at the agreed place 10 minutes before the agreed time. We can no longer make up for any waiting time at the end due to a tight schedule. Waiting time therefore means sailing time. If - for whatever reason - we are not present at the agreed time and place in time, we will of course do our best to accommodate you by sailing longer.
Take care of our environment
We are grateful for the use of the canals, canals and other waters that we navigate and we like to keep them clean. We expect you to cooperate with this, for example by using our on-board rubbish bin and by not throwing anything overboard at all.
Music on board
Music on board is not allowed, in accordance with the rules of the Municipality of Utrecht.
Use of alcohol
Persons who are already under the influence of alcohol at the start of the tour will be denied access to the boat.
Misconduct
In the event of misconduct, whether or not caused by alcohol consumption, the skipper has the right to interrupt or terminate the trip immediately. Wild urination is strictly prohibited. Urinating in public will lead to the immediate termination of the tour. In the case of the above, the payment obligation of the customer remains. Also no refund will be given.
Local rules municipality of Utrecht
The municipality of Utrecht has issued rules for the use of the canals in Utrecht. These rules are generally applicable and therefore you must also comply with these rules.
